Applications and nominations for all of our leadership programs are accepted througout the year and given to our Admissions Committee at the stated deadlines for each program.

The curriculum for Leadership Memphis programs - Executive and FastTrack -  focuses on a variety of community topics and leadership skills. Class sessions are structured so that there is ample time for follow-up and group discussion.

Topics include, but are not limited to: Economic Development, Leadership Skill Development, Public Policy vs. Public Issues, Strategic Planning, Conflict Resolution, Building Community-Based Organizations, Understanding Government,  and Using Community Resources. The emphasis is on increasing each class member’s Community IQ – what they know about the community, what is being done in the community, and who is doing what in the community.

Participants in each class are expected to be a student, as well as a teacher.  Leadership Memphis programs stress shared learning, and therefore require participants to be open to learning, as well as open to sharing what they know so others can learn from them.

The Grassroots Program offers an overview of many of these same topics with particular emphasis on basic leadership skills for organizing.

For specific information about the 2018 Executive Program, beginning in the Fall of 2017, the next FastTrack Program Fall 2017, beginning in Fall 2017, see our Programs pages.
